Currently : Edvard Munch. A Poem of Life, Love and Death (Until 22nd jan 2023)

New paintings never shown before at the Musée d’Orsay

Edvard Munch is often reduced to his iconic work “The Scream”. To remedy this, the Musée d’Orsay, in collaboration with the Munch Museum in Oslo, presents an exhibition of more than one hundred works that retrace his artistic career over nearly 60 years. Paintings, drawings, prints and engraved blocks, as well as photographs, allow a global reading of his work, highlighting its great coherence.

Munch, an unclassifiable artist

Munch’s works occupy a pivotal place in the history of art. His modernity and his imagination make him an unclassifiable artist who surprises and questions us.
