From the top of its towers 50 metres above the city, the Palace of the Popes rises above Avignon and its ramparts, and gives the city its exceptional character. The monument is a tourist attraction that welcomes more than 650,000 visitors per year, and is one of the 10 most visited monuments in France. Important exhibitions are also organised in the Palace.

Immerse yourself in the exuberant vegetation of the Amazonian forest and the daily life of its local populations. From 27 June to 30 November, the Palais des Papes presents the Amazônia exhibition by the famous Franco-Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado. See more than 200 photographs, accompanied by projections with an original soundtrack inspired by the forest, signed Jean-Michel Jarre.
The exhibition is the result of seven whole years of photographic expeditions!
